Feb 23, 2016 - BAIL HEARING ADJOURNED AGAIN FOR CATHERINE MCKAY IN HIGHWAY DEATHS OF VAN DE VORST FAMILY


The bail hearing for the woman charged with driving drunk causing the deaths of four members of the Van De Vorst family has been adjourned for two months.

Catherine Loye McKay, 49, appeared briefly via video on Tuesday in Saskatoon provincial court, when her case was set forward to April 25.

McKay is charged with four counts of drunk driving causing death, four counts of dangerous driving causing death and four counts of criminal negligence causing death. She allegedly tried to cross Highway 11 at Wanuskewin Road on Jan. 3 and struck a vehicle carrying Jordan Van De Vorst, 34, his wife Chanda, 33, and their two children Kamryn, 5, and Miguire, 2.

McKay has remained in custody since her arrest on the night of the crash.
