Nov 26, 2015 - BAIL HEARING FOR DRIVER IN DEADLY VAUGHAN CRASH DELAYED AGAIN [Neville-Lake Family]

Marco Muzzo faces 18 charges following a multi-vehicle crash in Vaughan that killed three children and their grandfather.

A bail hearing for a man charged in a tragic September collision that left three children and their grandfather dead in Vaughan was delayed again in a Newmarket courtroom on Thursday.

Sporting a long dark beard, Muzzo stated his name to the judge in a Newmarket courtroom during a brief appearance via video link. He will appear again on Dec. 10.

Nine-year-old Daniel Neville-Lake, his five-year-old brother Harrison and their two-year-old sister Milly were killed along with their 65-year-old grandfather Gary Neville on Sept. 27 when their van was t-boned by an SUV at Kirby Road and Kipling Avenue near Kleinburg.

Marco Muzzo faces 18 charges following a multi-vehicle crash in Vaughan that killed three children and their grandfather.

Two women, the children’s grandmother and great-grandmother, were also in the van at the time and were injured.

The driver of the SUV, 29-year-old Marco Muzzo of King Township, is facing a list of charges, including impaired driving causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and impaired driving causing bodily harm.

Standing outside the courtroom, mother Jennifer Neville-Lake said the family was grateful to all the people who have expressed their support to the family.

"Apparently this is a common move by the defence," she said of the delay in Muzzo's bail hearing. "I don't really have much interest in that."

"For us, it's almost heartening to see him in that jumpsuit and know that nobody else can get hurt," Neville-Lake said of seeing Muzzo on video Thursday.

She said the loss she and her husband have suffered is permanent and makes anything that occurs in court is less important.

"Where we were looking forward once to a long happy, healthly life, becoming grandparents, we were talking about having another baby to have a family of four, that's all gone now."
