Sep 09, 2014 - MAN CHARGED AFTER DEADLY CRASH IN SASKATOON LAST SUMMER [Quinn Stevenson]

Charges have been laid in a 2013 crash that claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy in Saskatoon.

Police have laid criminal code charges after a two vehicle crash on College Drive claimed the life of a Saskatoon teenager last summer.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service have concluded their ‘Project Bluejay’ investigation which looked into the collision that killed 17-year-old Quinn Stevenson on Aug. 3, 2013.

Project Bluejay was led by the major crime and traffic units and had assistance from several other units from Saskatoon police as well as RCMP.

As a result of the lengthy investigation, a 26-year-old Saskatchewan man has now been charged with impaired driving causing death, exceeding .08 BAC in causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

He is also facing counts of obstruction of justice, breach of probation, breach of undertaking and criminal negligence causing death.

The accused, from the Duck Lake area, is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Wednesday morning.
