Feb 10, 2014 - VIDEO: JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED IN CANADA [Beckie & Johnny]

Beckie and Johnny were killed Oct. 19th 2010 by a driver who chose to speed, run a red light and pass stopped vehicles in a right hand only turn lane.

To this date we have had no justice for their tragic deaths.  The driver was acquitted of all charges of dangerous driving causing death.

I just wanted to provide a little background on my experience with the judicial system and how it has failed my only child, Rebecca “Beckie” Dyer and her boyfriend, Johnny DeOliveira in hopes of changing the attitude and behavior of drivers.

Another reason for the video is to bring awareness to the public on the dangers of distracted driving, speeding as well as drinking and driving.

Beckie and Johnny will never come back and I live every day without talking to them, having dinner with them, planning their wedding and daily interactions that we all take for granted.

My life is empty now and the hole in my heart grows with each passing day.  When we have children and raise them, they bring us purpose, a reason to get up every morning.

Now, my purpose is to bring awareness to drivers and hopefully help change the laws to hold driver’s responsible for their actions and to the courts to let them know that as victims we want justice.

No other family should have to deal with the pain of losing a loved one because of someone else’s carelessness; negligence and total disregard for others safety.

Beckie’s favorite quote is from Ghandi:

“you must be the change you wish to see in the world”

Now my purpose is to live up to how we can all be the change and bring positive changes for victims and their families.
